Importance
It is important to continue studying the Holocaust because it teaches students and even adults that, “The Holocaust was not an accident in history; it occurred because individuals, organizations, and governments made choices that not only legalized discrimination but also allowed prejudice, hatred, and ultimately mass murder to occur.” It helps people understand the prejudice and racism that went on during this time period, how much hate was spread with the Jews, and how much control Hitler got just from blaming the Jews for everything. It shows an understanding of what the Jews had to go through everyday. Not even just Jews. Homosexuals, gypsies, poles and other slaves, and people with physical or mental disabilities. People only focus on the Jews who died, and he need to have respect for the others. 11 million people died between January 30, 1933 and May 8, 1945. How could us as people let this horrible and painful 8 years happen. We can never let this happen again, its just wrong how we let it happen.
